About WIYANOS
WIYANOS, “What Is It You Need, Oga/Sister”, is a semantic labour matching engine built for Nigeria's informal economy. Say what you need, in any language. We find who can do it.
Our mission
Nigeria's informal economy employs over 80% of the workforce. Welders, caregivers, cooks, drivers, fixers — people with real skills who get found only through personal networks. If you don't know the right person, the skill is invisible to you.
WIYANOS makes those skills searchable. Not through a rigid form or a fixed taxonomy — through natural language, in the way Nigerians actually talk about work.
And we go further: every connection is tracked. Every outcome is recorded. Workers build a verifiable track record that travels with them, job by job, year by year.
Forcing everyone to search in English excludes the people who need this most. WIYANOS understands Pidgin, Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, and more.
No paid reviews, no self-reported ratings. Reliability scores come from real job outcomes, confirmed by both parties over WhatsApp.
WIYANOS is a bridge, not a platform. We connect you and step back. No commission, no lock-in, no app to install.
The informal sector is not a step down from the formal economy. It is the economy for most Nigerians, and it deserves great tools.
Origin
WIYANOS was conceived and built during the Ahnlich-sponsored hackathon — six weeks to explore what vector search and semantic AI can do for the people who need it most. The Ahnlich vector database powers the semantic matching at the heart of the product.
No account needed to search. Takes 30 seconds.
